Hi.

i have read on the easa website this: http://ad.easa.europa.eu/ad/10-010

This would implement that if the PAD comes through many seatbelts would have to be changed within a few months.
Chances are then obviously that it would be taken on by the national aviations authority's as well.

Anyone any more news on this?

regards

Max

Dear Max.

Somewhere else I read that Schlemann was just as surprised as the rest of us.
They state that they do have an easa approval and that all the belts they repaired carry a form one.
Also have they never had any quality problems.
They advice any company and owner to protest to this PAD.

I hope it helps
Bart

Dieter Schlemann

Today an email came in stating:

Dear Sir or Madam,

on 19th. Feb. 2010 a conversation between the EASA and a representative of the in the PAD 10-010-1-1-
named companies and a representative of the AOPA took place in Cologne.
It concerned about the maintenance of aircraft seat-belts.

It was a very friendly and successful conversation.

So we can inform you that it´s business as usual and you can send us all belts for maintenance.
The members of stuff of the EASA informed us that it will not come to an AD as announced in the
PAD 10-010-1-1.At the moment the comments from everywhere (very many) to this PAD will be indexed
and will then be published.
So, we say "Thank you" to all who commentated this PAD and who complained about at the EU.

We, the maintenance companies now have to provide a new maintenance data (as in the USA).
We were told that after an approved maintenance data all until now delivered seat-belts that have been overhauled or repaired by one of the maintenance companies that are named in the PAD 10-010-1-1 and were delivered with an EASA Form One will keep it´s airworthiness.

Best regards
Dieter Schlemann

The PAD has been withdrawn http://ad.easa.europa.eu/ad/10-010

One less problem due to massive reactions from users.

338 people commented resulting in 165 pages.

proves once again that reacting is very important and very effective!!
