Knowing is solving!!

We told you, that EFHA’s goal is about turning politicians on to historical aviation friends.
People kick on some sort of addiction, sometimes called a hobby, politicians, however, constantly aware of where they stand for, listen to numbers.

That’s why EFHA urges you to picket air shows, birthday parties or any other place you deem suitable, tell people you love historic aviation and have them register at EFHA’s site. For now, numbers are really all that matters!

You know, yes you know, each time people notice you’re engaged in historic aviation, they smile and enjoy. No one, ever, turned nasty to you or me about this subject. How come we increasingly more encounter bumps on the way we experience our addiction?

Because people don’t know and we don’t open ourselves to them. Historic aviation seem one of the best secrets hidden.

Can we change that? Yes we can, you supply the numbers and we turn Europe on.

Now, what sort of suggestions do you have to make life of historic aviation a bit brighter?

Write your secretary, open up!!

Thank you,

Leo Haas

Dear secretary,

I would like to suggest a presence at airshows in one form or another. At airshows you would reach the right crowd! The question remains how? Would you have volunteers with a stand and handouts or are there other innovative ideas?

How do you motivate people to join the EFHA initiative? That is the question that needs to be answered.

What motivated me to join is that I see the trouble aviation, as a whole, is in....I see the trouble historic aviation is in. The rules have gotten too complex and even the people that work for our government are losing their way...I want sense! I know I may be unique with my motivation. Other may just want to do something for other reasons.

Maybe airplanes visiting airshows can have a special EFHA sticker...."property of the people of Europe", STAY CLEAR! Maybe a special EFHA maneuver that announcers would announce?

Let's bounce ideas around at this forum...

Mieke.

Hallo Mieke,

Thanks for your reaction and ideas.

Showing EFHA's presence at airshows is a superb way to promote EFHA, it certainly needs further consideration. The problem offcourse is, that right now, EFHA's board, timewise, is forced to make choices. Internet will remain our main scource of communication, but at the same level we will pay attention to extending our political network. The board is thrilled by the enthousiastic reaction, both in Brussels and nationally, of politicians, to our suggestion to become a friend of the European Historic Aviation society.

Your idea of making pronmotion stickers available at airshows appeals a lot to me. I can easily visualize numerous tailwheel aircraft with striking stickers reading: 'I'm a proud supporter of EFHA' . In fact, if someone amongst our readers is willing to sponsor stickers, we'll find a way to distribute them.

Thanks a lot for your contribution!

Leo Haas,

at your service...

Gooday All

I am a new member to this forum, however have been deeply involved with vintage and wardbird aviation in Australia since 1976. I think you are on the right track, its a case of raising the profile of historic aviation in both the eyes of the public and the politicians.

D downloaded all the manuals on DH Tiger Moth, I own and fly one (VH-JRS) also own an Auster J5 and rebuilding a Percival Proctor.

cheers

hello Proctor VH-AHY,

Thank you for agreeing with us, we need this, for the sake of all.
You know, since writing knowing is solving we've been able to put some more Euro-politicians to our list of Friends of Historic Aviation. This really is the beginning of knowing!

The Early Birds Foundation, the museum I'm committed to at Lelystad Airport, Holland, owns a couple of flying Moths, great machines indeed. And the J5 appeals to me as well. They told me you''ll have to be carefull with the gas, too little and you're out, as an owner, off course, you know.

Keep in and on the air my friend, let's know about your ventures now and then...

Leo
